End-unit townhouse in the Forest Edge Cluster
Sold by the owner — (703) 969-3177 · sale@1409greenmont.com · arrange a visit
Everything people move to Reston for, at a price you can afford.
Forest Edge is one of the first clusters built in Reston — ninety-six houses facing common green, a playground on it, a wooded path running behind. Reston Association comes with the address: fifteen pools, more than fifty tennis courts, fifty-five miles of paths, four lakes. Lake Anne is under a mile on foot and the elementary school is ten minutes down the path.
Four renovated houses in the cluster have sold between $699,990 and $710,000 — two of them the exact model. This one is $610,000. It needs work, and offers great upside for the right buyer. Move in right away: everything works and two bathrooms are already done. Then finish it your way, on your own schedule — and build the equity yourself.
Other houses in the neighborhood have taken out the wall between the kitchen and the hall to open up the plan. The L-shaped counter can become an island. Several owners have added a deck at the back. Be creative and make the space your own.

Square footage, year built and unit type are as recorded by Fairfax County, which measures every property the same way.
Every renovated sale above cleared $699,990. The two on Greenmont are the same 1,688 sq ft model as this house; the two on Forest Edge are smaller and a year older, and still closed within $10,000 of the top. 1431 sold for $700,000 as an interior unit — no fireplace, no side yard. This one is an end unit, with both.

Because the house is habitable and the systems work, it qualifies for ordinary conventional financing. No renovation loan is required.
If you would rather roll the renovation into the mortgage, an FHA 203(k) or Fannie Mae HomeStyle finances the purchase and the work in one loan and one closing, so you do not need cash on hand for the renovation. Bring your lender the floor plans.
Greenmont Court is a tree-lined cul-de-sac with no through traffic. Forest Edge Cluster — 96 houses along Greenmont and Forest Edge Drive, one of the first clusters built in Reston — takes its name from the buffer of trees and creeks that wraps around it. The houses face common green rather than parking lots. There is a playground on the green and a paved path running through the trees behind the houses. On a warm evening the green is where everyone ends up.
Reachable from the path behind the house without getting on a road. The cluster association covers trash and snow removal.
Reston was planned in the early 1960s around a single idea: build a whole town where people of every background could live near where they work, keep the woods and the water intact, and run paths everywhere so you could get around without a car. Sixty years on, the trees are full grown, the plan still works, and the town has a Metro line running through it.

More than fifty shops, thirty-five restaurants and an eleven-screen cinema on walkable streets. An outdoor ice rink under a glass pavilion runs November through early March. Concerts on the Town — free, every Saturday evening from May through August — is in its thirty-third season. The Silver Line has its own station at the Town Center.

A 243-bed hospital with a Level II Trauma Center, a 24-hour emergency department with a separate pediatric ER, cardiac catheterization labs, maternity with a Level III NICU, oncology, and robotic orthopedic and spine surgery. A freestanding Inova emergency room sits closer still, on Baron Cameron Avenue.
Reston Community Center runs two buildings, at Hunters Woods and Lake Anne. Between them: the 260-seat Leila Gordon Theatre, home to a professional touring series of music, dance, comedy and author talks; the Terry L. Smith Aquatics Center, with learn-to-swim, lap and open swim hours; and a year-round catalogue of art, dance and enrichment classes.
Tephra ICA (formerly GRACE, the Greater Reston Arts Center) was founded here in 1974 and sits at Reston Town Center, programming contemporary art exhibitions and education year round. Reston Community Players have staged theater in the town since 1966, and the Reston Chorale performs at the Community Center.
Wolf Trap is about five miles southeast, in Vienna — the only national park for the performing arts. Its Filene Center is a 7,000-seat open-air amphitheater on 117 acres of protected parkland, and the summer season plays under the roof or out on the lawn.
Youth sports run through the seasons. Reston Soccer fields more than 1,500 players across fall and spring, Reston Herndon Little League runs baseball, and the YMCA adds year-round programs.
The address feeds the South Lakes pyramid — Forest Edge Elementary, Langston Hughes Middle, South Lakes High — inside Fairfax County Public Schools, an A-rated district of 180,000 students that placed eleven schools in U.S. News’s top twenty-five in Virginia, more than any other district in the state.
Hughes is a magnet school with gifted-and-talented and the IB Middle Years Programme. South Lakes runs the full International Baccalaureate continuum — Middle Years, Diploma and Career-related — and the Diploma Programme is open to any student who wants it, with no screening. Forty-seven percent of students take part. The school graduates 93% of its class and won the Virginia Board of Education’s Continuous Improvement Award for 2023–24. Elsewhere in the pyramid there are two dual-language immersion programs, Spanish and Japanese.
The Seahawks won back-to-back VHSL Class 6 state basketball championships in 2024 and 2025, playing in the gym where Grant Hill’s jersey hangs retired — South Lakes class of 1990, two national titles at Duke, eighteen seasons in the NBA, Basketball Hall of Fame. (FCPS assignments for the 2025–26 school year.)
Reston is the anchor of the Dulles Technology Corridor, and much of it is a short drive or one Metro stop away. Google occupies the top floors of the tower at Wiehle–Reston East, two miles from the house. Leidos and Bechtel both run their global headquarters from Reston Town Center, and Fannie Mae consolidated its Northern Virginia operations into 850,000 square feet at Reston Gateway. Rolls-Royce North America, ICF, Comscore, Verisign, SAIC, General Dynamics, CACI, Peraton, Volkswagen Group of America and NVR are all here; Carfax is moving its headquarters in.
Tysons is seventeen minutes down the toll road — Capital One, Freddie Mac, Booz Allen Hamilton, MITRE and Hilton. Amazon’s HQ2 at National Landing in Arlington is about twenty-two miles, or a straight Silver Line ride with one transfer.
